The 2021 Kia Seltos SX Turbo is a hot little crossover, and we’re going to be spending a lot of time with this one. Introducing our latest long-term test car.

In August 2020 we featured the first-ever 2021 Kia Seltos EX, a subcompact crossover build on the same platform as the Hyundai Venue but offering AWD and some nice to have features. Unlike Kia’s other subcompact, the Niro doesn’t come with AWD and is intended to be a hybrid/electric car, which is why this Seltos exists in the first place.
Our 2021 Kia Seltos SX Turbo comes fully loaded for the Canadian market, adding $5,000 to the MSRP over the EX we drove, but with a lot of extra features such as LED headlights, ventilated front seats, a 10.25″ infotainment system that adds a Bose audio system, SiriusXM Radio, and Navigation, along with some enhanced safety technology. We go over the differenced with the features along with the 1.6L Turbocharged in-line 4 cylinder engine and the 7 speed dual clutch transmission.
We discuss our plans for this Seltos SX as we have it for an extended period of time. Stay tuned for future episodes of TestDrive Showdown where we compare this Seltos with other subcompact crossovers and similar vehicles, and we’ll be doing some testing based on your feedback. We plan to take this Seltos in a winter storm to test out the snow tires and AWD system, and will be talking about it again around the 20,000km mark to see how it’s held up.
